Suede Baby Booties


I've been studying for finals a lot recently, and though its productive, I don't feel like I'm doing much, just sitting and looking at books and notes and code sections. So, with my restlessness, I decided to do something constructive. After cleaning my apartment a little, I saw these on one of the design pages in my stitch and bitch calendar, and thought I'd try it out with some extra yarn i happened to have. I think they turned out cute. One skein ended up making 8 1/2 booties. Good thing for whoever has the next 4 babies!

Felted Purse

This is my first attempt at felting. The yarn was on sale and I thought it would make a nice purse. Plus, i found these neat purse handles on sale too, so here it goes:

I just started knitting a square until i thought it was long enough, then started decreasing until the yarn ran out, and did one more panel, then sewed them together. Here are the materials before felting:

Next I ran it through the washing machine, and stuffed it with grocery bags to form a shape:

Here's the finished project, the scale really changed. Its width isn't much smaller, but its shorter:
